25 - An ongoing quarter life crisis?

Weeee, another milestone this year. I'm now officially a quarter century! This is also the second (and hopefully the last) birthday during the pandemic. Anyways, let's get onto the post.

I'd like to preface this by saying that this birthday post may be rather different than usual. First of all, I usually post exactly as the clock struck midnight in whatever timezone I was in. This time it's more than a month late. Then again, it's better late than never. Second, I mostly want to write this one to organize my messy thoughts, so this post will probably have you end up with more questions than whatever answers you might expect to come across here. But if you still want to dive deeper to what I have been thinking, come along and read more below.

Wow, who would've thought that one year pass so fast? It still amazes me every year just how fleeting a year is. No matter how unbelievable it is, I still have to embrace this new age of mine.

Another year has come and gone again. I can't believe that I'm already 22! As always, there are some regretful moments and of course happy moments as a 21 year old. I'm grateful that I can end  And, though not much, I feel like I have grown a little as a person. 

As always, I'd like to post something everytime this special day comes around. This time I'd like to breakdown the anthem of 22 year olds, Taylor Swift's '22', and see how much I can relate it to my current life. As to make this not loo lengthy, I will only do the first verse and the chorus.

This year's birthday post will be quite different from the previous ones. This one may be a tad bit too gloomy to be a birthday post. But this is truly what I've been feeling these past few days, I've been having crazy mood swings the past 3 days and I just burst out crying with no apparent reason in my car just earlier. Anyways, here goes.

Another milestone reached! I’m finally 20 years old, an age many people deem to signify adulthood. Being a 20 year old, gives me mixed feeling given my current situation. And surprisingly, or not, I'm not as excited as my other birthdays. The circumstances is definitely very very different, last year I was with friends studying for A-levels  in a foreign land and now I'm at home studying for mid-term exam.

I can’t really believe that a year has passed. I can even remember my birthday last year: I went to Nuansa, tried QQ rice for the first time in my life, came back to the hostel to a cheesecake from my roommate and also some post its stuck on the wall in our room. It was simple and nothing much, but it meant a lot to me because I actually thought that no one really remembers the day.

So yes, I’m 19 now. The age when I’m not supposed to drink Hi-Lo Teen anymore. Anyways, instead of linking my age to a song, which I really cannot find by the way, this post will be an appreciation post for the many people who have walked into my life the 4 years I’m in Singapore. Well, simply because this might be my last birthday here. Anyways, here goes:

Eighteen

I'm of legal age now! I can now watch M18 movies on the cinema freely, go to clubs (not that I want to, though), and many more! In some parts of Indonesia, I might even have to get married already ._. If not, I'll be considered old...

But then again, the whole idea of this short post is this; With older age, there will be less restrictions. With older age, comes greater responsibility. With older age, I will face more and more harsh truth of life. I don't really know whether I should be happy or sad because I'm growing older, especially because time doesn't stop for anyone.

I am still excited, though. There are many new things that I have yet to try out and many new opportunities also open up for me. So, why not just look at the bright side of life? I mean, eighteen shows that I'm still a teenager and that leads to the conclusion that I have to live my life happily (?). I'm sorry if I don't make sense, my dear readers. My brain has been infected by the post-promos-and-fangirling virus. So, yeah. 

Pray for me for the year ahead, yeah? The events awaiting ahead will be quite tough for me, I guess. So, prayers will be much appreciated ^^

As usual, I always try to relate my age to a song, which unfortunately I can't really find this time. So, this time I'll give you a song that kind of relate to my age? The word 18 comes out in this song once, so yeah. If you're really curious about this song, feel free to look up for the lyrics and translation on the internet. I'm not putting up any of the lyrics simply because I think this song relates more to boys than girls, and I'm a girl ._. (Btw, if you haven't realized I've liked BTS for quite some time now). So, here goes :)

Hi! It's been about 2 months since I last posted something here... Well, I've been quite busy with school and everything. O-levels is really draining me physically and emotionally ._. 

Anyways, it's my 17th birthday :)

Hi! :D I just realized that I've had this blog for slightly more than a year and I'm getting older too! I feel like it was yesterday when I wrote fifteen. And I will be sixteen in a matter of few minutes time!
