I can’t really believe that a year has passed. I can even remember my birthday last year: I went to Nuansa, tried QQ rice for the first time in my life, came back to the hostel to a cheesecake from my roommate and also some post its stuck on the wall in our room. It was simple and nothing much, but it meant a lot to me because I actually thought that no one really remembers the day.

So yes, I’m 19 now. The age when I’m not supposed to drink Hi-Lo Teen anymore. Anyways, instead of linking my age to a song, which I really cannot find by the way, this post will be an appreciation post for the many people who have walked into my life the 4 years I’m in Singapore. Well, simply because this might be my last birthday here. Anyways, here goes:

CPS

We were the only girls from Surabaya in our year, which was very sad btw (Maybe that’s we had our Galau FM every weekend?). We were almost attached to the hip except for when we had some misunderstandings and other stupid stuffs. But yeah, I’m very very grateful to be a part of CPS. You all have really showed me what friendship is, we may not be in the best of terms all the time, but we’ll be there for each other in one way or another ♡ Let’s continue keeping in touch wherever we end up studying later :p

Selusin

We aren’t that close, really. But the fact that we have a name to call our ‘group’ makes me really happy with no specific reason. I love to belong in groups like this because I don’t have to pretend being somebody I am not. It’s so easy to understand each other (cuz no language barrier yay). Btw, we really should bond someday hehehe. Although not much, thank you to all of you to add a little bit of colour in my otherwise dull (secondary school) life J

Seniors

To both seniors in MG and SA, thank you so much for being there for us. Our (My) life became a little bit easier with your guidance and stories from the past years. I miss you all but I really hope that the odds will ever be in your favour J. Shoutout to seniors who went to church with me, you have an especially special place in my heart :p

Cabulous

We all started off as strangers who were stuck in similar circumstances. What started as awkwardness has grown to a beautiful friendship. My homesickness subsided a lot these past two years because I have all of you. Coming back to Singapore feels less daunting because I know that I will meet all of you again in the hostel. Thank you for all the adventures that we have, thank you for being there when I broke down, thank you for being my friends.

Ice Cream Club

Everything started off because we are all in the biology class. Then we just stuck around each other everyday with occasional ice-cream sessions in J1. All of you are special to me, the first group of close friends who are not Indonesians hehehe. Thank you for putting up with all my weirdness and random outburst of fangirling moments. Thank you for accepting me. And I look forward to our future adventures :)

15^th HC

I love love love HC especially after LTC. The late night work for HC was certainly tiring but they were all worth it. Going through shit together has indeed brought most of us closer. HC is the first CCA in a long time that makes me feel that I belong, makes me feel I am useful despite my academic circumstances, and makes me understand the real meaning of teamwork.  No words can really describe my feelings for 15^th HC, but I really really am grateful that I was a part of it. I just hope that our connection won’t end just because we are graduating soon.

Azylea

Most of us were strangers despite the fact that we have gone to the same school for almost a year. Our order is not the most bonded as compared to the other orders, but I am glad that I am a member of Azylea and have made friends with you, a group of people whom I won’t even know by name if not for orientation.  You all are balls of sunshine that brighten up though times at the start of the year.  I am especially thankful to my OGL partner, without you I don’t know what our OG would have become, without you I will never learn the couple dance properly. You’re awesome Nic and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise :)

B11-08/07

My dearest roommates, thank you for tolerating my fangirl habits, thank you for being my gossip buddies and thank you for supporting my dreams in one way or another. Even during stressful times, talking to you would sometimes ease my worry.

My hostel life would have been very different without all of you. For having met all of you, I am very very grateful. I can only hope that I can meet more roommates like you in the future :)

There are still a lot more groups of people or individuals that I have not mentioned but that does not mean that they are less important. There are just too many people to list out but do know that I am really grateful that you have become a part of my life.
