Let Go...

I dedicate this article for my classmates: 88 XXX members. Friends, please enjoy this :)

Let go; a word that is very simple to say but definitely difficult to do.  It is annoying to admit that letting go is something inevitable. But, is that true?

Life ain't That Easy, Dude!

What a wonderful life we have! The warmth of sunshine, petrichor of the rain, and the chirping sound of little birds are simply breathtaking. Nevertheless, we still need to be vigilant in everything we do. This beautiful life can be very hostile at some times. It camouflages a number of bottomless cliffs that can trap us anytime.

You must be wondering about the ‘easy life’ some people have. Scholars, ‘genius’ students, successful businessmen, and popular celebrities, it seems that their lives are far from obstacles and misery. Oh, come on. Open your eyes! There is no such thing as an easy life.

Bully Bully Bully !

Bully, a word that will immediately ring a bell in our head when it is said. But, what does the word 'bully' literally mean? My dictionary defines it as:

A study published on the 8th February in the journal American Sociological Review suggests that bullying is a tactic for gaining social position.

Music Time! Fifteen by Taylor Swift

Fifteen is a ballad song released by Big Machine Records as the 4th single from Taylor Swift's second studio album : Fearless.

As always, she gave a clue about the song from her point of view. Some capitalized alphabets show the clue : I CRIED WHILE RECORDING THIS.

Puppy Love ♥

Teenagers and their innocent puppy love are inextricable twosome. Joy and sorrow that intervenes in between just make it more interesting to be acknowledged. The yo-yoing and unstable condition of the so-called love story just makes us more curious to know what the next scene would be.

The Text Message (A piece of my life)

Few years ago, I thought that I had found a really good friend. It was very special for me since the 'good friend' was a boy. We came from different elementary school, but a rare chance had given us the opportunity to know each other.

After some meetings, we became closer friends than before. When we couldn't meet, we would call each other.

However, life, being life, was not that easy and beautiful. We had to bid farewell, and because of that, he gave me a memento. Until now, I still keep that gift.

Two years later, a blow of fresh air emerged. It turned out that we would attend the same junior high school. I was so excited about that.

And then, the long awaited day finally came. We finally met each other and said a mere 'hi'.

Days that came after that were awkward. No small talk on the phone anymore, no more 'hi' at school. But then, a year after that he sent me a text message. Up to now, I feel that the text message is heart-warming even-though I don't know whether he just forwarded it to me or made it by himself. However, I'm not naive to think that he sent that text message to me only. There's no way he would do that.

By the way, here is the content of the text message :

We might be best friends one year,
pretty good friends the next year,
don't talk that often the next year,
and don't want to talk at all the year after that.
So, I just want to say, even if I never talk to you again in my life,
you are still my friend and you make a difference in my life.
I look up to you and respect you.
Send this to all your friends, no matter how often you talk to them,
or how close you are to them.
Let old friends know you haven't forgotten them and tell new friends you never will.
I like you because of who you are to me, that is  a true friend :)

Now, I have realized that friendship is not determined by what you are doing, but by the sincere feeling of friendship deep inside your heart :)

Music Time! Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift

Never Grow Up is the 8th song in Taylor Swift’s 3rd album: Speak Now.

The album’s booklet shows a hint about the real meaning of the song. Some capitalized alphabets in the lyrics form a phrase: I MOVED OUT IN JULY. So, this song was written to express the feeling of loneliness when she spent the first night in her first apartment of her own.

Facebook

Facebook is a popular and widely used social network founded by Mark Zuckerberg along with his roommates and fellow computer students: Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes.

Almost everyone knows this ‘useful’ site. But, is it really useful?  Are there any side effects? Well, everything has its own positive and negative side, and Facebook is not an exception.

A friend of mine said that we could call Facebook: Fakebook, where we make fake friends. I don’t agree with his opinion due to various reasons. The main reason was that we started our friendship through Facebook. Although we were classmates, we didn’t talk to each other at all. Not until I made a Facebook account. So, in this case I can say that Facebook really is useful.

Besides that, I found some ‘long lost friends’ through it. We chatted, we had fun, and we talked about random things just to heal the feeling of loneliness at night. In the other hand, Facebook also brought destruction to our relationship. Well, the story is too complicated to tell.

Now, let’s talk about it according to the experts’ opinion and research.

As we knew, Facebook has been a fertile land for marketing. A lot of companies are ‘displaying’ their products through advertisements on Facebook. Many say that it is pretty effective since a lot of people from the whole world can see the advertisements easily.

In the contrary, psychologist Mary Helen Immordino-Yang from the University of Southern California said, "If things are happening too fast, you may not ever fully experience emotions about other people's psychological states and that would have implications for your morality." She means, by staring at your computer screen all day: facebooking, it makes our brain activity faster. While for making some decisions, especially moral decision, our brain needs adequate time and reflection.

So, what do you think? Is Facebook really useful? Well, you decide for yourself .

Life is an opportunity - take it.
Life is a journey - complete it.
Life is a promise - fulfill it.
Life is beauty - praise it.
Life is a struggle - survive it.

Puzzle of Life

Life is a puzzle, many people say that.
But then, a question popped in my mind: why do we call it puzzle? Is there any similarity between them?
As the time goes by, I finally figured out those questions.
Life is complicated, just like puzzle.

When I was just a little girl, life was simply beautiful, innocent, and easy. It was as easy as turning my palm. There were no any worries.
At that time, I did not have any concepts or deep thoughts about life. The only thing that I did was living my life to the fullest.

But now, everything changes. Life is not as simple as I thought. It is tricky. If I choose the wrong way, I would be trapped – it would not be the same as my beautiful thoughts.

Encounter and good-byes, the inseparable duo, bring a complex feeling most of the time. It is easy to meet new people, but it is hard to let go. Sometimes, there is a reluctant feeling to let go because I have known them too long, too much to be forgotten.

Problems always come and go, no matter who you are and where you are. Although I was a good student, there was a very complex problem at school that I can recall clearly until now. It was actually a trivial problem, but it became ‘huge’ because there was a misunderstanding. It led to a bigger problem: a classmate of mine was harmed. And that’s not the only problem existed, a long list of it is still waiting to be told.

Well, life really is a puzzle. We have to decipher it bit by bit, painstakingly. The ending is determined by ourselves, and no one can change it but ourselves.
