The Book of Us: Negentropy - Chaos Swallowed up in Love

Hi, long time no see! 

As we all know, the thing-that-must-not-be-named has been affecting our lives for more than a year. The prolonged limited contact with people and work make my mind go to places when I'm listening to songs. Since Day6 recently released the last instalment of "The Book of Us" series, I feel like it's a good occassion to share the scenarios my mind came up with at the first few listens. This is an uncoventional review, but I hope this is enough to celebrate Day6 music (especially since it will be a while until we can get another full group release)! Give them a listen too and see whether you can get the same vibes from these songs :) 

A Bitter Day

I just want to write this after watching episode 3 of "Her Private Life". It brought me back to times I thought were the worst days of my life. These were the days when I probably cried harder than when 5-year-old me fell down headfirst (!) after jumping around on my parent's bed.

 How was the shit-show called "2020" for you? Before the first month of the new year ends, I'd like to think about some things I learnt or thought last year. Here are a few:

我的少女時代 - Why "Our Times" is one of the best movies of all time (in my opinion)

While thinking about why I decided to fork out money to step out of my comfort zone, I was reminded of this movie. This is the movie I have consistently rewatch every end-of-year since its release in 2015. There must be a reason why it's so captivating and makes me want to rewatch it so many times (also why it stayed in the cinema for so long in Singapore). Here are my best guesses why.

New Appreciation (Some side notes and spoilers about the drama Start-Up/Sandbox)

I have just finished the highly raved weekend drama Start-Up a few days ago. So, I'll take this time to jot down some of the thoughts that appeared while watching it before I forget everything.

I'd like to preface this by saying that this birthday post may be rather different than usual. First of all, I usually post exactly as the clock struck midnight in whatever timezone I was in. This time it's more than a month late. Then again, it's better late than never. Second, I mostly want to write this one to organize my messy thoughts, so this post will probably have you end up with more questions than whatever answers you might expect to come across here. A very short summary of what I've been feeling throughout this COVID-19 debacle

It's supposed to be a good time to sit down, reflect and attempt to navigate through life. You know, setting goals and all that jazz. 

Instead, it seems like I've been drowning in desolation - barely escaping this chokehold with the help of nostalgia and fantasy of better days.
