Human

These few days I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster ride. Like not those scary kinds of rides, it’s the kiddy ride. You know, those with not so high peaks? This is mostly because of exam stress I guess, every little thing can cause a high fluctuation of emotion. Despite all these, I found myself a new source of happiness, I guess.

These days, I’ve been so into 방탄소년단 aka Bangtan Boys or BTS in short (Of course EXO is still no. 1 for me). I don’t know about this, but I think they have something that is unique to them. I think their charm is quite different from other groups that I’ve come to like so far. Well, of course all of them are exceptionally good-looking. But that’s really not all.

The thing that I always do once I come to like a group is checking their profile and random facts about them. I think that it’s really fun to know about someone new. One thing that I’ve taken notice is that there are some mentions of their insecurities. No, this is not about their ambitions and the things that they feel are holding them back, like what other groups talk about. This one is legit insecurity. The one that is most glaring is Jimin’s
insecurity. He always thinks that he’s fatter and less attractive compared to other members. And there was this incident in Sweden (?) where a fan blatantly told him in the face that he is ugly. No, I’m not celebrating his insecurity. I’m quite sad that he actually thinks that way. I mean, he already worked his ass off to debut and he actually has a talent, so it’s a pity that he still thinks that way. Even so, this is actually what makes him seem to be more… human. Well, of course people would say that other idols also practice until they drop. I know that also, I think I know that pretty well by now. But then, they’re still there with all their glory (read : good looks).

Another thing that I like about them is that they tell their stories through their songs. I can safely say that most of their songs have meaning and actually fits their genre really well. Their songs are highly relatable especially because they talk quite a lot about school and such. I think this relatable-ity also makes me think that they are more human (?).

All in all, I just want to remind everyone that idols are also human. They are out there to achieve their dreams, just like all of us doing what we are doing. They already make a lot of sacrifices, practicing until dawn, being able to see their family only a few times in a year, limited social life and many more. I just request for one thing, please, don’t be aggressive, angry and leave the fandom because of some choices that they make in life, such as dating. Remember, they are human and they have the desire to love and be loved. Just let them be happy and we will be happy. They can pretend to be happy in front of everyone, you know, job demands. But remember this, and imagine them saying this to you.

But I’m only human
And I bleed when I fall down
I’m only human
And I crash and break down
Your words in my head, knives in my heart
You build me up and then I fall apart
‘Cause I’m only human

On a side note, I’m still trying to get over the fact that the golden maknae of BTS, Jeon Jungkook, is actutally younger than me. Sad Vita is sad  because he’s my bias in BTS ㅠㅠ That guy is impossible, his smile made me squeal like a fangirl.

So, check them out and maybe you'll understand what I mean :) The most important thing is the meaning of the songs so look them up on google :)
